As Durham is a two tier authority, housing benefit is looked by the districts councils. You can contact Welfare Rights for help and advice on benefits. Some of the district councils have an Online Benefits Calculator which will let you know if you are entitled to housing benefit, council tax benefit, working tax credit, child tax credit and other benefits.
