Coal Mining Oral History Workshops and Training
The Coal Mining Oral History Co-ordinator delivered oral history workshops in schools throughout County Durham and working with the Community Heritage Officer to develop training workshops for local history and community groups.
Workshops were held in Bowes Museum, Bishop Auckland, Chester le Street and Kelloe.
The popularity of the project meant that the co-ordinator was approached by several agencies from within and outside the county to deliver specially designed advice and training days. These sessions included working on a joint project with children from three schools in Darlington, with teenagers from Hartlepool and Durham on 'Home Front Recall' projects and with a West African heritage group from Middlesbrough.
