Alcohol and Drugs Use
Find out about the signs of addiction and where you can get help for those trying to kick a drug or alcohol habit. Get information on council services and other local and national agencies working with alcohol and drug users.


National Drugs Strategy
This concentrates on the most dangerous drugs, and how they have affected communities and the individuals in them.

Supporting People
Supporting People is an amalgamation of a number of different funding sources that were aimed at providing 'housing related support' to people who needed help to find appropriate accommodation, to settle into stable accommodation, to learn to live independently or simply to maintain their current circumstances in their daily lives.

Working with Partners
Durham County Council is working in partnership with a number of local and national agencies to reduce the harm caused by drugs, alcohol and substance misuse, to people and communities in the area.

Young Persons' Substance Misuse Service
The XS service offers help and treatment to young people under 19 who have difficulties with drugs and/or alcohol.
