Durham County Council Draft Health Improvement Plan 2007-2012

Durham County Council has recognised for some time that improving the health of the people of County Durham and tackling inequalities in health has to be one of our top priorities. As the largest public sector organisation in the county, we recognise that our activities have a significant impact on the health of the population we serve.

The plan attached below aims to describe the contribution we make, and will make in the future, to the challenges of improving health and tackling health inequalities locally.

We are circulating this draft plan in order to promote discussion amongst staff and services, our partners and local people, about this vital issue. We very much want to hear from colleagues across the county as your views and comments will be key in shaping the final document.

We would welcome your comments and we look forward to hearing from you. Please let me have your views by the end of January 2008. Comments should be submitted to:
