Licences - Skip Operator

Everyone has a right to the use and enjoyment of the highway. As Highway Authority, we have a duty to protect those rights and we do this be enforcing the regulations in the Highways Act 1980. This involves issuing licences to authorise certain activities that might take place on the highway as it is an offence to obstruct the highway without an appropriate licence.

A licence is required to deposit a builder's skip on the highway. Each licence will contain various conditions and requirements which must be followed to ensure the safety of all users of the highway.

A charge is made for a skip licence to cover our administration costs.
