The Tree Council is the leading UK tree campaigning charity, promoting the planting and conservation of trees throughout the United Kingdom and working towards:
It is an umbrella body for over 150 organizations working together for trees - planting, caring for and enjoying them - and a forum for issues relating to trees and woods. Members range from professional, non-governmental, specialist and trade organizations, including other conservation charities, to local authorities.

As well as organizing National Tree Week, the Tree Council Coordinates the National Grid Tree Warden Scheme and publishes the magazine Tree News. Every year the Tree Council organises a calendar of events including:
- Seed Gathering Season: Collecting tree seeds for future planting
- National Tree Week.
