Drug and Alcohol Policy Guidance for Educational Settings

Law and practice around drugs and alcohol changes frequently and quickly. Over the last few years, apart from the changes in Children and Young People's Services and the Every Child Matters and Healthy Schools agendas, we have seen major changes in the law relating to alcohol, tobacco, cannabis and magic mushrooms. The new national alcohol and drugs strategies have been published and the law and practice regarding the searching of school students is also under discussion. The new secondary PSHE education curriculum has been launched with the primary to follow.
