Consultation on the Pattern and Provision of Schooling in Stanley, Consett and the Durham City Area
The consultation began on 9 October 2007 and ran until 23 November 2007. Public meetings were held at all the schools involved during November and these were publicised in the local press and on flyers around the towns and villages. Officers from the LA are currently analysing the responses that have been received and a report will be produced for the County Council's Cabinet to consider later this year.
In advance of this, however, there is the evaluation of sponsors being carried out by Councillor Claire Vasey (Lead Member for Children and Young People's Services - CYPS), David Williams (Corporate Director for CYPS) and an independent external assessor from the Department of Children, Families and Schools (DCFS) to ensure that Durham has the right sponsor(s) in place should we consult further on the Academy Programme.
