Corporate Policy
The County Council has a Corporate Policy team to develop and drive forward a number of initiatives to improve our performance, make us more responsive and accountable to local needs and respond to the Government's modernisation agenda. The team is responsible for:
- Leading the introduction and development of Best Value, including the co-ordination of the five year programme of fundamental performance reviews and the annual production of the Council's Best Value performance plan.
- Leading the Council in its work on the Local Area Agreement.
- Developing corporate performance management for the Council.
- Supporting the introduction of new political executive structures.
- Assisting the Chief Executive and Corporate Management Team in the Council's strategic and community planning processes.
- Supporting the Chief Executive in responding to the Government's modernisation agenda.
- Leading on the plans to improve the way the County Council communicates with local people and others and the way in which we consult and involve local people in the County Council's work.
