Councillors' Register of Interests
The Register of Interests of Members and Co-opted Members of the Council is required under Section 81(1) of the Local Government Act 2000 to register certain financial and other interests. These include:
- Personal employment/business.
- Contributions towards election and other Council-related expenses.
- Beneficial interests in corporate bodies within the County.
- Any contracts with the Council for goods, services or works.
- Beneficial interests in any land or property within the County.
- Tenancy agreements with the Council.
- Licences to occupy land within the County.
- Memberships of other organisations, including charitable bodies.
- Membership of organisations whose principal purposes include the influence of public opinion or policy.
- Membership of a Trade Union or Professional Association.
The Register of Interests for all Councillors elected in May 2008 is available as a PDF below. It should be noted that the process with regard to appointments to outside bodies is currently ongoing. This information will be updated as it becomes available. The register is also available for public inspection at Corporate Services, County Hall during normal office hours.
