Funding which is available to County Durham are:
The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Which supports technology and innovation through the Countys innovation connectors which are linked to communities. It also supports the development of enterprise and business formation.

The European Social Fund (ESF) Supports employment opportunities to help raise standards of living. It aims to help people fulfil their potential by giving them better skills and better job prospects.
URBAN II
Concentrates its support on innovative strategies to regenerate cities and declining urban areas. There is an Urban programme covering areas of North East Durham and parts of Sunderland.
LEADER+
Aims to bring together those active in rural societies and economies to look at new local strategies for sustainable development . Large parts of West Durham are covered by a LEADER+ programme.
