What we Do
Durham County Council Consumer Services enforces hundreds of pieces of legislation, covering a huge range of business and consumer related areas.We also provide advice on animal welfare and the licensing of farm animal movements

Scientific Services
We provide a scientific testing and advisory service to Durham County Council and other local authorities in the North of England. Our UKAS accredited service is also available to private businesses and members of the public.The Trading Standards Service works almost exclusively with, through and for people. We are, therefore, passionate about Durham County Council’s commitment to promoting a just society that gives everyone an equal chance to learn, work and live, free from discrimination and prejudice.
