Seeking Advice

There are hundreds of advice providers who can help with your legal problems. However, finding the right adviser is not always a simple task. The following websites will help you find the right organisation for your problem.

  • Community Legal Service
    The official Community Legal Service (CLS) website gives you access to several thousand solicitors firms and independent advice agencies all of whom hold the acclaimed Quality Mark quality standard. Use the Directory feature to search the CLS directory by area of law, location and other criteria. The Directory is also available over the telephone through the CLS Call Centre on tel: 0845 345 4 345.
  • Solicitors Online
    The Law Society's online directory of Solicitors. Provides information about law firms and individual solicitors in England and Wales. Search by location, specialism and other criteria.
  • Law Centre Federation
    Law Centres provide a free and independent professional legal service to people who live or work in their catchment area.
  • Citizen's Advice Bureau
    Citizens Advice Bureaux give free, confidential, impartial and independent advice on a limitless range of subjects, including debt, benefits, housing, legal matters, employment, immigration and consumer issues. To contact your nearest CAB write, drop-in or telephone during opening hours. Some bureaux can offer advice by email if you are in their locality. CAB websites also give information about local services. CABx are only able to advise people who live in their local vicinity. Please try to contact the bureau which is nearest to you.
