Opening HoursThe DLI Museum & Durham Art Gallery is open every day (except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day)Summer (1 April-31 October) 10am - 5pm Winter (1 November-31 March) 10am - 4pm.
Admission ChargesCharge includes admission to both museum and art gallery Adults £3.25 AccessThe DLI Museum & Durham Art Gallery is fully accessible to all visitors with a dedicated car park, ramps, lift, toilet, induction loop and signage. The displays too are accessible with low-level cases, clear labelling and many objects on open display to touch.Car Park: There is ample free parking for cars and coaches. In the Durham Art Gallery exhibition programme, a changing programme of top-quality exhibitions by artists and crafts-people both traditional and modern both challenges and entertains visitors, whilst regular gallery events from concerts to practical workshops extend visitors' understanding and enjoyment of the visual arts. In our new shop, visitors can buy both exclusive Regimental souvenirs and original items by local artists and craftspeople, plus a wide range of gifts and cards for all ages. A cafe with superb views over the park and lake serves visitors with top-quality refreshments and light meals. Accredited Museum StatusWe are proud to have been awarded 'MLA Accredited Museum' status as part of a national scheme in the United Kingdom which sets agreed standards for museums and indicates our recent performance. We have been assessed on a variety of areas ranging from 'enquiry' to 'visits' through to 'departure'. In order to gain this achievement our facilities were visited by an experienced quality assurance assessor, who looks at the type of facilities we offer and measures our merits using objective quality benchmarks, provided by the tourism industry.
