Bishop Auckland Civic Society and Bishop Auckland Town Hall would like to thank everyone who contributed to this year's Town Quiz. £715 was raised, all of which will be going to this year's chosen charity - the Great North Air Amublance.

Despite the atrocious weather over 30 teams turned up to help support the cause. Questions came thick and fast from Quizmaster Glynn Wales, on a wide range of general knowledge and specialist interest subjects. The winning team - All Tomorrow's Parties - achieved an impressive 161 points out of a possible 180.

Catherine Dawson, Centre Manager: "The Town Hall was delighted to support such a very worthy cause. We would like to thank everyone who helped to make the evening such a great success - the team members, the members of the Civic Society who helped on the night, and everyone in the town who donated prizes for the raffle.
