Hardwick Park has an incredible range of habitats, buildings and sculptures making it a superb landscape for unique learning opportunities for schools, groups and families.
Through a broad range of workshops our experienced education professionals, deliver practical and creative activities that support and enhance the national curriculum.
Our current programme encompasses strong cross-curricular links whilst encouraging participants to enjoy, achieve and develop an interest in the natural world and local heritage.
Educational visits led by our team take place throughout the year and are based on either half or full day facilitated workshops.
The education programme is updated each term. Download our Hardwick Park Schools Flyer Autumn 2017 (PDF, 1Mb) for details on upcoming workshops at the park.
If your nursery, school or group are intending to make a self-led visit to the park please contact us to inform the Education Officer, especially during the summer months.
Download our Hazard Identification (PDF, 465kb) form designed to assist schools in writing their own risk assessment.

The visitor centre includes a purpose built education room, suitable for groups of up to 30 pupils and located close to the toilets. We also have a yurt located adjacent to the designated coach parking, which provides a unique resource for groups and can accommodate larger groups.
Both rooms are utilised as a base during facilitated visits but can also be hired for self-led groups.
There is ample coach parking on-site for visiting groups. There is a charge of £9.00 for coaches and minibuses bringing groups on self-led visits but parking is free for those taking part in facilitated workshops.
"The delivery was excellent and the creative way the whole park was used made the children feel as though they were going on an adventure. It really inspired them to write and helped the contexts become real for them. I loved that so many different activities were given for the children to take part in."
"The enthusiasm and knowledge of the group leader was great. The day was packed full of activities and there was never any 'dead' time to fill. Great value for money, super facilities."
