Warm and Healthy Homes award

Our Warm and Healthy Homes project has received an award from National Energy Action (NEA) the national fuel poverty charity.

Warm and Healthy Homes award

Cllr Jan Blakey, Chairman of Durham County Council, and partners involved in the Warm and Healthy Homes project.

The aim of the Warm and Healthy Homes project is to improve people's health and wellbeing by reducing cold-related illness and tackling fuel poverty.

The award from NEA recognises our success in working with our partners to ensure the scheme is effective in providing advice and support to people.

Through the project, new central heating systems and home insulation measures as well advice about benefits and reducing fuel costs are offered to vulnerable people across County Durham. They are referred to the scheme by health or social care workers.
