Discretionary Rate Relief Policy

We are reviewing our Discretionary Rate Relief Policy for business rates and want your views on the proposed changes. We have directly consulting with all Community Interest Companies (CiCs) that may be affected by this change and we also want to hear the views of anyone else who may be affected.

Consultation on changes to financial assessments for non-residential care services

We are proposing changes in the way in which non-residential care services are financially assessed. If agreed, these changes would take effect from 1 October 2016.

We are proposing to close Startforth Morritt Memorial Church of England Primary School on 31 December 2016.

Student accommodation/houses in multiple occupation (HMO) - Framwellgate Moor area

We consulted on a proposal which impacts on student accommodation in Framwellgate Moor, Pity Me and Newton Hall, meaning that all future changes of use from a residential property to a HMO would require planning consent.
