Walk, Cycle, Ride - draft Rights of Way Improvement Plan 2015-2018 consultation


In October 2015 we produced a new Rights of Way Improvement Plan; Walk, Cycle, Ride for County Durham.

Our vision

We want to develop a network of paths across the county which is fit for 21st Century travel, recreation and enjoyment and which:

  • will contribute to your quality of life and, 
  • help people lead healthy active lives.

Walk, cycle, ride

Walk, Cycle, Ride is our plan to develop this vision. It includes:

  • prioritising spending on key routes,
  • improving paths which have specific purposes and have the greatest use such as cycle routes or recreational paths close to local communities,
  • creating links between and within networks of paths to build a more comprehensive path network.

The closing date was Friday 26 June 2015.
