We offer fortnightly garden waste collections to more than 190,000 eligible properties in County Durham between March/April and November. There is a fee for this service.

Graffiti is an illegal activity that creates a negative impression of an area and can be very unsightly. We will investigate and remove graffiti where possible.
Thornhill Primary now administer the School Benevolent Fund on behalf of all schools across County Durham. This is a registered charity which offers a grant towards shoes and coats for school pupils.
We have six permanent Gypsy, Roma and Traveller sites in County Durham.
Report a location or address of an encampment which you suspect may be there without the permission of the council or landowner.
Gypsies, Roma and Travellers have a long established history as part of our community in County Durham. We have a duty to encourage race equality, eliminate discrimination and foster good relations.
