County Wind Band

Our County Wind Band is part of a large band which has around 50 members from across County Durham and Darlington.

The band works closely with the County Youth Orchestra and includes woodwind and brass instruments. We perform a wide range of styles including modern music.

The band was formed in the 1960s and has toured many parts of Europe and Canada, in addition to performing with other county level ensembles.

We aim to give band members a wide range of musical and educational experiences and the chance to perform at the highest level, making the most of their musical talents.

Useful information

The band is directed by Mrs Caroline Roberts and Mrs Tina Mortimer and practices alternate Saturdays from 10.00am - 1.00pm, at Durham Trinity School.

Anyone wishing to join the band must have an audition and be recommended by a music teacher.

However, if you/your child do not receive music lessons, but you feel that you meet the required standards or would like to be involved, please contact us on the details on this page.
