Chairman's charity

The Chairman of the Council nominates at least one charity to support during their year in office.

The charity chosen by the Chairman for 2017/18 is the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

The Great North Air Ambulance Service

The Great North Air Ambulance Service operates three helicopters, 365 days a year, across the North-East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their crews respond to around 1,000 call outs each year and their aircraft have specialist trauma doctors and paramedics on board, who bring accident and emergency expertise to the scene.
