4 Together Partnership Forum and Community Voting event

We have a total of £24,907.20 of funds to give out. However the total amount of grants requested is £29,958.41. By holding a voting event, the funds will be given out fairly to whichever projects receive the highest vote.

Each application has undergone an eligibility appraisal and has satisfied the appraisal panel that the project is deliverable if successful.

4 Together Partnership priorities for 2016/17

We held our winter forum event on Saturday 14 November 2015, and attendees were given the opportunity to vote on their top priorities for the partnership to focus on in 2016/17.

The priority votes were ranked as follows:

  • activities for children and young people - 131 votes
  • crime and community safety - 102 votes
  • employment, job prospects, education and training - 101 votes
  • older people - 80 votes
  • community aspirations - 64 votes
  • transport, traffic management and highways - 61 votes
  • environmental issues and regeneration of town and village centres - 60 votes
  • health and wellbeing - 55 votes
  • affordable decent housing - 39 votes
  • IT, technology and communication - 12 votes

At the partnership board meeting in January 2016, board members discussed the voting results, and also the work done previously by the partnership on various priority areas.  The board agreed to adopt the following priorities for 2016/17, with an overarching theme of health and wellbeing, as well as an element of crime and community safety where required:

  • activities for children and young people
  • employment, job prospects, education and training
  • older people

These priorities are effective from Friday 1 April 2016.  Task and finish groups will work on the priorities, with a view to developing aims and objectives for potential projects to come forward which help to address the priority issues.
