Changes to bus timetables and routes

Bus companies are running revised timetables due to Covid-19.

Bus services are still operating on key routes to ensure people can make essential journeys and will be reviewed with ongoing advice from the government and public health bodies.

Please also be aware of changes to Bus passes.

Durham bus station is closed, and alternative bus stops will be on North Road.

Arriva North East

  • Revised timetables on services from 30 March 2020 57/57A (Quarrington Hill to Durham) - earlier morning departure at Station Town from 13 April 2020

Go North East

Weardale Motor Services

  • 84 (Crook Town Service) - Saturday timetable operating Monday to Saturday
  • 101 (Stanhope to Bishop Auckland) - operating an hourly service to Crook, with journeys to Bishop Auckland at key times
  • X21 (Stanhope to Newcastle) - cancelled until further notice
  • other services running as normal

Stanley Travel

  • 713 (Flinthill to Stanley) - operating a reduced timetable

Scarlet Band

  • Service 35A (Bishop Auckland to Ferryhill) - operating a reduced timetable
  • 108 (Bishop Auckland to Wear Valley View) - Saturday timetable operating Monday to Saturday
  • 109 (Bishop Auckland to Oakenshaw - Saturday timetable operating Monday to Saturday
  • S1 (South Road Colleges to Gilesgate Moor) - operating a reduced timetable
  • other services running as normal

Durham County Council

The following services cancelled from 18 April 2020 until further notice:

  • 205 (Peterlee to Horden)
  • 215 (Seaham Interchange to Deneside and Westlea)
  • 726 (Sacriston and Nettlesworth to Chester-le-Street)

  • services running to existing timetables until further notice
