Young bookworms have not one but two chances to win a fantastic prize in March and April.

Junior members of our libraries who attend a Toddler Time session (for under 5s) before the 22 March can enter a prize draw to win a family ticket to see Zog at Gala Theatre, Durham on Saturday 30 March at 4.00pm.

Zog bumps, burns and roars his way through Dragon School in this magical adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's much-loved book, brought to life with a sumptuous folk score and live musicians.

By attending a Toddler Time session in April, junior library members can also enter another prize draw to win a family ticket to Dear Zoo at Gala Theatre, Durham on Wednesday 15 May at 3.30pm.

Rod Campbell's best-selling book has delighted generations of young readers since it was first published in 1982 and has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide. This stage production will delight audiences both young and old with puppets, music and lots of audience interaction.

Stories, songs and crafts

Cllr Joy Allen, our Cabinet member for transformation, which includes libraries, said: "These fantastic competitions are running in our libraries across the county. All our libraries offer regular Toddler Time sessions where little ones can bring their adults along to listen to a story, sing a song or take part in crafts.

"It's free to join the library and as a junior borrower, children of all ages can access a fantastic range of books, with all the current top picks and old favourites available to borrow or reserve.

"Library members can also access a wonderful range of ebooks and eAudiobooks online simply by downloading the Borrowbox app."
