Book an appointment at Aykley Heads House register office or arrange a ceremony at this Grade 2 listed building.
All register offices are closed to the public with effect from 30 March until further notice.
All birth registration appointments are cancelled until further notice. You can find out how to apply in advance for child benefit or universal credit before the birth is registered.
You can register a death through an appointment by telephoning 03000 266 000.
All ceremonies including weddings, civil partnerships, naming ceremonies and non-statutory celebrations have been suspended. Any queries in regards to ceremonies should be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Aykley Heads House is a Grade 2 listed, moderate-sized country villa. There are three ceremony rooms on the ground floor which are easily accessible:
- the main ceremony room holds up to 65 people
- the second ceremony room holds up to 35 people
- the third ceremony room holds up to 20 people, and is located in a stairwell area
Photographs can be taken in the grounds.

Aykley heads House is a short bus or car journey from Durham City. It is set back from the main road in its own grounds and there is good public transport links nearby as well as the University Hospital of North Durham.
