School admission arrangements 2019/20

All schools and academies in County Durham are now in the process of agreeing their admission arrangements for the 2019/20 academic year.

This includes information on how places are offered (known as the co-ordinated admissions scheme), the number of places available at each school/academy, admission policy and oversubscription criteria.

There are no proposals to change the current admission arrangements (see our Icon for pdf Primary and Secondary School Admission Guide 2018/19 (PDF, 1.6mb) ) for community and voluntary controlled schools for the 2019/20 academic year that we are required to consult on, except that the we propose to reduce the admission number for some community and voluntary controlled schools in order to maximise the efficiency of the teaching spaces at those schools. You can view the proposed changes in the document below, along with our suggested changes to the admission number of some own admission authority schools/academies.
