Our sport and leisure services team, Durham County Leisure, provides a wide range of sport and recreation facilities across the county.
What do we do?
To ensure opportunities for sport, leisure and recreational activities are accessible for everyone we:
Durham’s countryside includes picnic areas, country parks, railway path networks and nature reserves which provide recreational and educational opportunities for the local community and visitors to the area.
Sport and leisure development supports a network of key partners to deliver sport and leisure which encourages participation for all ages to maintain a healthy lifestyle while creating pathways to recreational activities and sporting excellence.

Join in...2012
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games provide a once in a lifetime opportunity to inspire people to take part in sport, physical or cultural activity and leave a lasting legacy of increased involvement across the country. We hope to do just that in County Durham through the join in 2012 campaign.
