First Board meeting
The first meeting of the Bishop Auckland and Shildon AAP Board took place on 22 July 2009.
The Board looked at action plans to address the priorities developed by local people at May's AAP launch meeting. The three main areas for the AAP to focus on over the coming year are:
- crime and community safety
- unemployment and job prospects
- activities for young people
Sub-groups will be formed to work on the priorities.
The Board was given a presentation highlighting the winter gritting routes and highways schemes available. The Board also received a presentation on the City of Culture bid for the county.
