Overview
WAP was launched in April 2009, and the inaugural meeting was open to everyone living and working within the AAP boundary.
The launch event was attended by more than 60 people, who have subsequently become forum members of this AAP. The attendees participated in discussions to identify and rank the top ten priorities that they agreed needed to be addressed within their AAP area.
The first meeting of the Weardale Action Partnership Board took place on 23 July 2009. At this meeting the board decided to focus its initial work on four key priorities for the remainder of the financial year 2009/10:

Two further meetings of the WAP forum have taken place since the launch event. The first in November 2009 and the most recent in June 2010. Further details on these forum events can be found on our Weardale Action Partnership Forum page.
Tackling priorities
Task and Finish groups were established for each of the four priorities. The work of the Task and Finish groups was used to develop a list of potential projects for the 2009/10 Action Plan. The Task and Finish groups reported their findings and proposals back to the AAP board.
The board decided at the meeting held on 18 February 2010 to keep the same priorities for the next year. The Task and Finish groups are currently developing the projects to be delivered within this year's Action Plan.
