I love Durham because...
Be part of an exciting new artwork to celebrate everything we all love about Durham.
During May half term we will be creating huge message walls at four locations in the county. The completed canvasses will then be brought together to form one huge artwork featuring some of the county's famous landscapes, buildings and people - all created from your comments.
Help us fill the message walls
Just tell us what you love about the county in approximately 30 words. We'll reproduce your message together with your first name and your town or your twitter handle.
Either on Twitter @DurhamCouncil and add the hashtag #HelpDurhamShine to the end of your message, or tell us what you love about the county online.
There's a VIP pass worth £400, courtesy of Visit County Durham, up for grabs each month for one lucky contributor.
Watch the Leader of the council Cllr Simon Henig, artists and staff from Beamish Museum tell us more about the message wall and why they love Durham in the video below.
