Malton Picnic Area

This popular picnic area is situated off the A691 2km (1 mile) east of the village of Lanchester. The Lanchester Valley Railway Path runs through the site. There are several picnic tables and grassed areas for picnicking or games. A wooded riverside path follows the River Browney for a short distance, passing a point known as the 'Waters Meetings' where the Smallhope Burn meets the River Browney. This riverside path has easy access for people with disabilities and pushchairs.

The site provides an ideal starting or break point for people walking or cycling on the Lanchester Valley Railway Path.
